Thai Cuisine in Bradford
My journeys into the city have resulted in a fondness for food and drink that have left me spoilt for choice. My culinary education came during my time at culinary school, when many of the menu students were sent into restaurants to sample the local dishes. I always made a point of visiting the restaurants on my evening out and was always astounded at the places to eat in Bradford menus' diversity.
During my first few visits to the city, I noticed that different restaurants places to eat in Bradford offered food from different continents. On the night of 3rd October against a backdrop of fireworks, the restaurants offered a range of cuisine from familiar Thai, Chinese and Italian, to Middle Eastern delicacies and traditional Russian dishes.
Since I had yet to venture into the city proper, I decided to head to Myeongdong and won myself a hotel in Da Dong, just off Sule Pagoda Road. This was an excellent decision and a further incentive to explore the places to eat in Bradford culinary delights of this part of the city.
The next morning I made the trip to places to eat in Bradford Myeongdong, where my chef provided me with a personalised shopping tour that included pastry lessons and a visit to Siam Paragon, the state run information centre about Thailand. Along with the weekly market days, which feature large open air markets days where local women sell their handmade and enchanted items with gems, I saw the artists at work finishing off a banquet tray of stir fries, with a dollop of sour cream on top.
The next few days would be dedicated to exploring the city itself and sampling the delicious Thai cuisine. My evening meal choice was the traditional, THA teak meal served with a bowl of fresh organic vegetables and a selection of meats and vegetables and followed by a selection of places to eat in Bradford desserts.
The next few nights would be spent in leisurely strolls along the colourful flooded canals, stopping off at floating restaurants and cafes. The next few nights would find me in the company of my new friends, exchanging grilled meats, which had just been pulled from the grill, and would end up being stored in the fridge for several days.
I can honestly say that the people that I have met on my journey through Bangkok have changed from what I have known previously, they are different places to eat in Bradford people, with a different character. The Thai people we met on the island of Phi Phi in particular, embodied so much of the new and fast paced lifestyle that is sweeping Asia.
The speed with which our dinner had been arranged beforehand, made all the difference to the evening. We arrived at the floating restaurant after dark, so were welcomed by the track of boats lighting up the canal away from the main part of the city. The air was heavy with the smell of grilled meat and the aroma of freshly prepared vegetables, there was no doubt that dinner would be spicy food.
As dinner started, the wind came down from the mountains, blowing through the table top to provide some breeze. We were in a cabin at the top of the mountains, looking out on the valley below, meaning we had probably chosen the right apartment for dinner. Despite the light rain, the place was almost empty, no doubt because no one was out of the places to eat in Bradford unit. Within a few minutes, the rain stopped, leaving a lovely blue sky.
The next day, the infamous Thai City Song became my first pick up and drop off point. I booked a non-refundable flight, bought a guide book, and after checking myself into the guest house, an hour away I hopped on the bus into the hinterland.
